Oakland Residence

This glorious Spanish Mediterranean home was built in the 1920's. It had spectacular wood and tile work which was barely noticeable amongst the brightly colored sponge painted walls and wood shutters. The house was dark and uninviting. The goal was to highlight and compliment the beautiful architectural details and create a casual yet elegant home for everyday living and entertaining. The palette was kept light to contrast with the dark wood tones of the architecture. The furnishings are traditional but unfussy with a few star pieces to add some drama.
